Abandon by Meg Cabot

Abandon by Meg Cabot

Released: April 26, 2011
Publisher: Point
Pages: 304

Though she tries returning to the life she knew before the accident, Pierce can't help but feel at once a part of this world, and apart from it. Yet she's never alone . . . because someone is always watching her. Escape from the realm of the dead is impossible when someone there wants you back.

But now she's moved to a new town. Maybe at her new school, she can start fresh. Maybe she can stop feeling so afraid.

Only she can't. Because even here, he finds her. That's how desperately he wants her back. She knows he's no guardian angel, and his dark world isn't exactly heaven, yet she can't stay away . . . especially since he always appears when she least expects it, but exactly when she needs him most.

But if she lets herself fall any further, she may just find herself back in the one place she most fears: the Underworld.

Abandon is a Greek retailing, on the myth of Persephone. I thought this book was really good. I am always so interested in Greek Mythology. I really like the Greek Myth of Persephone. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Pierce, the main character, didn't bother me. I thought she was a great main character. She  was trying to deal with everything going on in her life, and I think she handled it well. John. I though John was really mysterious. I wanted to see more of him in this book, I hope to see more of him in the next book.

to sum up , I really liked this book. I would totally reccomend it to anyone. I read this book in a day. With that being said i give this book a 4/5 stars.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Released: February 1st 2011
Publisher: Harper Teen
Pages: 441

Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love

I thought Delirium was good. But just good. The plot was very interesting, the whole idea of a world that doesn't have any love is really neat. To think that out world today couldn't love anything, not even family is eye-opening.

The characters in this book I though were good. Lena , are main character was an average teenage girl. Something that bothered me about her was that she had low self esteem. I felt like her character would have been better if she didn't think that. Alex. I though he was a good character. I liked how he really cared for Lena. But i also felt like we didn't get to really know who Alex was.

The end was truly heartbreaking, and a total shocker. I literally did not see that coming. If it weren't for the ending, and how the ending went, I probably would have rated the book lower, but the ending brought the rating up. that's how great it was. I can not wait until the sequel comes out, I want to know what happens next. With that being said I would give it a 3.5/5 stars .
I would reccomend this book.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games

Released: September 14, 2008
Publisher: Scholastic
Pages: 374

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live yo see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The capitol is harsh ad cruel an keeps the Districts in line by forcing them to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the dearth on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before-- and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

There aren't any words to describe this book. Collins made an unforgettable book. I absolotley loved this book. I am going to be completley honest, I thought i wasn't going to like this book when I read the synopsis. Then I saw a couple reviews on it and a ton of people were telling me to read it. SO I gave it a chance. And it was one of the best books I have ever read literally.

The characters in the book were fantastic. Lets talk about Katniss. Man Katniss was a strong- willed, indepedent character in this book. She was so brave. I loved Katniss' character. Peeta. I also though he was an awesome character. He was kind, funny, and you just fall in love with him the first time he shows up in the book. Gale. We dont really see much of him in this book, but of what we do see, he is like the mysterious guy that cares for Katniss. Can you guys see a love triangle coming in the next books????

I also really like the whole concept of the book. Collins really showed us what Panem would be like, and District 12 , and I thought that was really neat. When I got this book, I flew through it that's how amazing it was!
5/5 stars

The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting

The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting

Released: March 16, 2010
Published: Harper Teen
Pages: 327

Sixteen-year-old Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her unusual so-called gift. While her confusing feelings for her best friend are new, she has been able to sense dead bodies--- or at least those that have been murdered--- and the imprints that attach to their killers since she was a little girl. Violet has never considered her ability useful, but now that a serial killer had begun terrorizing her small  town she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Fiercely protective of her, Jay agrees to help Violet search for the murderer. But even as she's falling in love, Violet is getting closer to discovering a killer . . . and becoming his prey herself.

I really enjoyed this book. I could not put this book down, it was that good. When I first bought it I kept putting off reading it because I though it was going to be an easy, light, fast read. Bit i was wrong, this book had a lot of detail, and the plot is just amazing.

The characters.I felt I could really relate to Violet, I liked how she was self independent. Sje was a great main character. Now, Jay. I really liked his character in this book. He really cared about Violets safety, and didn't want her getting hurt. I mean I think everyone would love to have a Jay in there life. He is just super caring, funny, and more!

To sum it up I really enjoyed this book, didn't have that many problems with the book. And i loved the plot, to where you were reading in the point of view of the killer, I thought that was pretty neat. Great book.

Smart, charming, beautiful, Etienne has it all. . . including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Lights, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss? Stephanie Perkins keeps the romantic tension crackling and the attraction  high in a debut guaranteed to make toes tingle and hearts melt.

I completley fell in love this this book. To be honest I didn't think that I was going to like this book, or even buy this book. Then I saw that this book had so much hype, that it was good, so I decided to check it out. And boy was i not disappointed!  This book was completely swoon worthy. The books that I love to read are books that when your done reading them, you can't stop thinking about it, and that's how i felt about this book.

Getting on to the Characters. I thought Anna was a good protagonist, some parts she was a little annoying, but that didn't ruin the book for me. On the Etienne, I thought he was an awesome character, he was funny, smart, gorgeous, and wonderful!

I felt like over all this book was amazing! The plot, characters, and even the setting, I mean come on its Paris!
5/5 Stars

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Released: May 3rd 2011
Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books
Pages: 487 pages US Hardcover

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves . . . or it might destroy her.

One word for this book... AMAZING! I absolutely loved this book. I thought it was very creative, and it grabbed my attention from the first couple pages.

TO even think that I was going to pass this book up! I loved the characters in this book. I felt like I could really relate to Tris, she is independent, strong, and a whole lot more. I am really happy that we finally get a good protagonist!  I also really like the character of Four. I thought he was always so mysterious, and you just wanted to keep reading about hi, and find out more about his story.

I really think the plot of the book was AMAZING , as well.  The whole idea of a world with all the different factions just interested me in the beginning, and I loved every aspect of this book. Once I picked up the book I could not put it down, I breezed through this book. I can not wait for the sequel to come out! So I definetley recommend this book. It is a 5/5 stars from me. One of my favorite books.
